Class meets: Jan. 5, 19, 26, Feb. 2, 9, March 1, 8, 15, 22

This course is designed for students who with to flex their composing muscles. After the first class, individual and small-group lessons will be provided.

Composers works may be performed by fellow orchestra members at the Spring Composition Recital on Saturday, April 19, 2008 at 1:30pm.

Keyboard Skills for the Non-Pianist

This course will help you prepare for your required keyboard studies at the collegiate level, increase your knowledge of music theory and heighten your understanding of the music you currently perform on your primary instrument.

MYS Alumni Play-in House of Hope Presbyterian Church, 2:00 pm

Manny Laureano will lead alumni through works from Beethoven, Shostakovich and Bizet.

All alumni from our past 35 years are invited to play beautiful music under Manny’s baton.

The play-in will be held at House of Hope Presbyterian Church in St. Paul, 797 Summit Ave.

Join us on Saturday evening, January 5, 2008 to celebrate two anniversaries – 35 years of MYS and 20 years of artistic leadership by Claudette and Manny Laureano. The St. Paul College Club on Summit Avenue will be lit with lights and candles as we gather for dinner, dancing, a silent auction and, of course, music performed by MYS students and alumni.
