Rehearsals

MYS rehearses every Saturday from September through April at Highland Park Junior High School (975 Snelling Ave S, St Paul, MN 55116) during the following times:

String Orchestra 8:45am – 11:00am
Philharmonic Orchestra 10:30am – 1:00pm
Repertory Orchestra 10:00am – 1:00pm
Symphony Orchestra 8:45am – 11:45am

Retreats

Overnight retreats for Philharmonic, Repertory and Symphony are held at YMCA’s Camp Pepin in Pepin, WI. The fee for each student is $95 (this fee is subject to change). The String Orchestra will attend a day retreat in St. Paul. The fee for each student in Strings is $35. Retreat fees are separate from tuition. Music Education Classes

MYS provides a comprehensive musical experience for its students. Taking advantage of supplemental classes such as harmony, composition and solfege can help prepare you for college courses – and may even help you test out of some freshman requirements! Parents and siblings are welcome to attend these classes that are offered at no additional charge to MYS students. For details on the classes offered click here.
