Programs

MYS provides musical training for serious young musicians and the community with a variety of performance and music education programs. MYS is unique among Twin Cities music programs

  • setting the highest standards in repertoire and performance level (MYS’ senior orchestras play professional literature at a professional level)
  • educating talented and committed students in a conservatory style orchestra
  • amazing audiences with high caliber performances

In addition to our Orchestra, Music Education and Community Programs, MYS offers the Carissa Hayen Memorial Scholarship Program, a need-based financial assistance program that helps with tuition expenses for qualifying students. Approximately twelve percent (45) of MYS students are scholarship recipients. No qualified student is turned away because of financial reasons. Click here to download an application

The MYS Music Library is available to students who may borrow scores and parts free of charge. Music from the MYS Library is also available for rental by other performing arts organizations. Contact the MYS office at 651-699-5811 or mys@mnyouthsymphonies.org for more information.
