Join us at Grace Church for an amazing concert featuring the winner of the MYS Solo Competition playing with the Symphony Orchestra. All four MYS orchestras perform works from the Classical, Romantic, and Modern periods.

The new season opens with a phenomenal concert at Orchestra Hall featuring all four MYS orchestras and Peter Ostroushko, multi-instrumentalist extraordinaire.
Tickets will be available in the fall.
Join us for an afternoon of exceptional music as the finalists in the MYS Symphony Solo Competition compete to play a solo onstage at Orchestra Hall. The winner of this competition will play with the Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Manny Laureano at our February 8th concert. This event is free and open to the public.

Symphony Solo Competition Finals

The stakes are high as MYS’ top musicians perform in a recital to determine the winner of the annual Symphony Solo Competition. The winner goes on to perform his or her concerto with the MYS Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Manny Laureano, at Orchestra Hall, Minneapolis. Open to Symphony students only.
This concert is free and open to the public.

Two world premieres – Stephen Paulus and Shelley Hanson
Orchestra Hall, Minneapolis, 6:30 pm
The grand finale of the 35th Anniversary Season – the world premiere of a work by Stephen Paulus written especially for MYS’ Symphony Orchestra and the MYS Repertory Orchestra premieres a piece by Shelley Hanson. Also on the program, music from “The Phantom Menace” and “Saving Private Ryan” featuring choirs from MYS, Wayzata High School and Breck.
