Music & Melody Makers
The MYS Music & Melody Makers program provides a hands-on introduction to all the instruments of the orchestra. This fun program gives young children a taste of which instrument they might like to play. Participants are three to fourteen years old and are from early childhood family education programs, home schools, scout groups and Boys & Girls Clubs. This season’s Music & Melody Makers event is scheduled for Saturday, January 21, 2012.

Children’s Concert Club
Music & Melody Makers participants and other youth groups may attend MYS concerts through the Children’s Concert Club. Affordable tickets ($3 per person) enable children from all backgrounds to hear music performed by other children, hopefully igniting a lifelong interest in music.

String Studio
The MYS String Studio provides violin and viola lessons, and the use of instruments, to third and fourth graders at the Andersen United Community School in Minneapolis’ Phillips neighborhood. String Studio students have opportunities to attend MYS rehearsals and concerts and, beginning this year, will receive individual lessons on their instruments.

MYS Soliciting Online Auction Items!
Get Involved and Support MYS
From February 15–March 15, MYS will be hosting an online auction, and we need your donations! By donating an item or multiple items to our online auction, you will support MYS orchestras and our talented young musicians. Perhaps you have a cabin you would donate for a weekend, tickets to a sporting event or a concert, or an ensemble that would donate a performance. MYS Winter Concert
Join us for our Winter Concert at Orchestra Hall Sunday, Feb. 12 at 6:30pm. The concert will feature Symphony Solo Competition Winner Luther Warren performing the first movement of Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto.
