Trimester 3 Reference recordings
Kabalevsky- “The Comedians”: This is a recording on youtube with a score that you can follow along with. I think you’ll find that valuable, so that you can see what the other parts are doing throughout!
Stravinsky- “The Fair” from Petrushka, arr. Isaac: This is a great youth orchestra’s recording of this piece/arrangement. Enjoy!!!
Soon Hee Newbold-Gravitas: This link will take you to the publisher’s recording of the piece and is just an audio sample (click “Preview” to listen). Itwill give you a good idea of the mood of the piece. This piece will be performed with the MYS wind orchestra.

Work out rhythms and fingerings for the difficult parts. This needs to be done at home and not figured out during rehearsal. Get help from your teacher if needed.
Practice with metronome to gain confidence in your rhythms.
Everyone needs to step up at home practice a lot and be better prepared for rehearsals.
Stravinsky
Number all your parts for Stravinsky.
