OPEN HOUSE MONTH

Open House Month 2026

MYS will be holding three weeks of Open House rehearsals in March.

Woodwind, brass, percussion, and string students in grades 5–11 (or Suzuki book 2 or higher) are invited to observe or play-along in with one of our five orchestras.

We accept all orchestral instruments including auxiliary instruments such as piano, harp, bass clarinet, English horn, and piccolo. If you play saxophone, euphonium, guitar, drum set, or other non-orchestral instruments, you are welcome to join us, ask questions, and observe rehearsals but there is no opportunity to play along.

Repertory Orchestra | 8:15 AM–11:30 AM
Symphony Orchestra | 8:30 AM–11:45 AM
Philharmonic Orchestra | 8:45 AM–11:30 AM
String Orchestra | 11:30 AM–1:15 PM
Wind Orchestra | 11:30 AM–1:15 PM

Activities

Play along in a rehearsal with one of the 5 MYS orchestras (music will be emailed ahead of time)
Observe rehearsal of one (or more) of the 5 MYS orchestras
Meet current MYS students
Speak with an MYS conductor and staff members

Registration

Pre-registration is required. There is no fee to attend.
