RETREATS
Overview
Students will participate in a day-long retreat consisting of rehearsals, sectionals, sightreading, and social activities. MYS will provide the meal(s). Students must arrange their own transportation to the retreat.
Dates
Note: Retreat date and schedule varies by orchestra. Students will meet for regular rehearsal at Macalester on the week they are not at retreat.
Repertory & Symphony Orchestras: Saturday, September 20, 2025, 9:00 AM–7:00 PM
Wind & String Orchestras: Saturday, September 27, 2025, 9:00 AM–3:00 PM
Philharmonic Orchestra: Saturday, September 27, 2025, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
Attendance
Attendance is expected and encouraged for the entire day of retreat. However, if a student needs to arrive late or leave early from retreat, please submit an absence form as soon as possible, to assist with rehearsal and meal planning.
Students will not be permitted to leave early without prior notification and parent permission. If you have questions about retreat attendance, please contact Melissa Morey.
