Danzas de Panama, mvt. 3

  • Please remember to get a mute, and practice with the mute on at home!

  • Violins: please start up bow in measure 2,

  • Violas: practice your soli section 1 measure before rehearsal 26 through rehearsal 27, I can’t hear you playing this, and it is the melody!

  • Cellos: please practice the last 3 measures, especially getting to the c string quickly so we don’t slow down too much too soon.

  • EVERYONE: please practice playing mezzo piano and connecting your bow changes so that it sounds smoother (just like we played the Moldau)

Danzas de Panama, mvt. 4

  • Keep up the good work! This has come a long way, and I am so proud of the work you have put in. Please keep working on this with the metronome, especially

    • the sixteenth rest followed by 3 sixteenth notes rhythm

    • transitions (for example, 1st ending/2nd ending)

    • 4 measures before 36

    • 9th measure of rehearsal 42—please play this slowly for intonation and bowing precision.
